A lot of people are now making money through the internet. With the whole world facing global crisis and many countries experiencing economic problems, most people are now developing and making new ways to make money at home through home-based businesses and other ventures to increase their monthly income. Through the wide use of computers and internet in the world, people can now find various ways to make money online while at home. One of the most effective and easiest ways to make money online is through internet marketing affiliate programs. These programs are very profitable for website owners as well as online business companies.

The first step to start earning through internet marketing affiliate programs is creating your own website. Building a unique and effective website can be very technical and needs proper investment in order for the site to really gain visitors and generate profit. However, with the recent developments in internet services and technology, setting up a website online is now much easier due to many online sites and applications that help people create websites in only a few steps.

People can also hire or ask help from the professionals who know how to create online websites. Before making a website, find a good niche or the most popular subjects among the internet users. When the website is created, gain visitors or web traffic to your site by promoting your website and regularly updating it with information: articles, blogs and other promotional items to make your website rich in content. After effectively promoting your site and gaining significant amounts of web traffic, submit your site to the search engines. Look for the reputable and common advertisement programs like Google AdWords and other internet merchants that are looking for affiliate marketers to promote their products online.

After building and promoting the website, start earning profits by choosing the appropriate internet marketing affiliate program. There are numerous advertisement programs that website owners can choose from that would be both profitable for the affiliate marketer and to the online merchant as well.

Most common and popular types of affiliate advertisement programs are the Pay Per Impression, Pay Per Click, Pay Per Lead and the Pay Per Sale advertisement schemes. Pay Per Impression has the cheapest value among other online advertisement programs. The website generates profits by allowing the banner of the online merchant to be displayed on the affiliate marketer’s website.

Website owners can also earn profits through Pay Per Click method. The online merchant pays the website owner or the affiliate marketer when the visitor clicks the company or the online merchant’s banner that is posted on the affiliate’s website.

Pay Per Lead generates profit for the website owner when the visitors click the company’s banner and sign up for features required by the online merchant, like signing up for membership.

Lastly is the Pay Per Sale advertisement program where both the online merchant and the affiliate marketer earn profit. The company promoted by the website owner pays the affiliate marketer when a visitor clicks the online merchant’s banner and buys the products being sold on the merchant’s website. This is the most profitable among the affiliate advertisement programs but also the trickiest. To ensure a greater likelihood of a sale website owners should research well and choose the best types of product to advertise and effectively promote the product to visitors.

Ex-US soldier sentenced to life in prison for Iraqi teen rape, four murders

Saturday, September 5, 2009

A former US soldier has been sentenced to life in prison for raping a teen and murdering her and her family while on active duty in Iraq. The jury failed to reach the unanimous verdict required for the death penalty sought by the prosecution.

[…] if I had never gone to Iraq I would never have got caught up in anything like this

According to testimony given by two soldiers, Steven Dale Green was part of a group who decided they wanted to rape a girl they had seen walking through her village, 14-year-old Abeer Qassim al-Janabi. They walked to her house while disguised as insurgents and separated her from her parents and younger sister.

Green then shot dead Abeer’s family while two other soldiers raped the girl. He then raped her himself while she wept before covering her face with a pillow and fatally shooting her. The gang then covered her naked body with a blanket soaked in kerosene, using a lighter to start a fire before walking 200 yards to a nearby checkpoint where they cooked a meal.

Green had already been discharged from the army when his crimes were discovered. He had previously spoken of a desire to murder Iraqi civilians and his defence argued he should never have been allowed to return to duty. A nurse had decided he would not carry out his desires. A US civilian court tried him, the first such prosecution of a soldier under a law allowing servicemen to be charged with crimes carried out abroad.

The judge described his actions as “unimaginable, unjustified and inexcusable” and sentenced him to five consecutive life sentences without possibility of parole. Four others had already been sentenced. Three are all serving life with parole after ten years, and a fourth who acted as a lookout is serving a 27-month sentence.

It took months for the offences to be discovered, even though Green had quickly confessed to a sergeant. Soldiers speaking to stress counsellors talked of the crimes after the abduction and murders of two other soldiers. When news of the soldiers’ actions broke, insurgents killed several American servicemen in revenge.

The prosecution described Green as “criminal and perverse” while the defence called him a “broken warrior.” Green said he was acting upon orders from former Specialist Paul Cortez, another of the attackers, and told the court “Y’all can act like I’m a psychopath or a sexual predator or whatever. But if I had never gone to Iraq I would never have got caught up in anything like this.”

Australia defeat England in rugby to win Cook Cup

Saturday, June 17, 2006

Australia has defeated England 43 points to 18 in the second match of the Cook Cup series between the two nations in rugby union. The second win for Australia saw them win the Cook Cup trophy, which was held by England entering the series. The match was played under a closed roof at Telstra Dome, Melbourne in Australia. Regular Australian captain George Gregan entered the game off the bench in the second half to receive his 120th cap for the Wallabies – setting a new world record.

The first points of the match went to England with Andy Goode booting a field goal to put them up by three points. A few minutes later George Smith charged over to score a try under the posts for the Wallabies, Stirling Mortlock added the subsequent conversion to take the Australians to a seven to three lead over the English. In the 14th minute, Mark Gerrard catches a cross field bomb from Stephen Larkem to score the second Australian try. Although Mortlock missed the conversion, Australia move to a 14 to three lead over England. Goode was able to give England another three points, kicking a penalty goal in the 25th minute. Rodney Blake, one of Australia’s heroes from the previous test, appeared to have hurt his ankle and is replaced by Al Baxter. Minutes out from half-time, Lote Tuqiri scores for Australia. Mortlock is successful with the conversion to take the score to 19 points to six going into break.

Mark Chisholm runs in the first try of the second half, and with Mortlock adding the conversion, Australia’s lead extended to over 20 points. Although an English comeback now looked unlikely, minutes later George Chuter scores a try for England, although Goode missed the conversion, the score was now 26 to 11 to Australia. With 20 minutes remaining, Mortlock kicks a penalty goal to take to score to 29 to 11. A few minutes later, Gerrard runs in for his second side and with Mortlock adding the conversion, Australia now moved the score to 36 to 11. A late try to Larkham, which was converted by Mortlock sees Australia take the score to over 40 points. In the 80th minute of the match, moments from halftime, Varndell receives a pass from Balshaw to run in a late try for England. The final score was 43 points to 18.

SEPTA buys rail cars from NJ Transit to deal with crowding

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

As gas prices have risen in the United States, the regional transport authority for southeastern Pennsylvania, SEPTA, has seen a sharp increase in ridership, which has caused overcrowding on the trains.

“As fuel prices have continued to rise, SEPTA ridership has steadily increased and is the highest in 18 years,” said SEPTA General Manager Joseph Casey. Monthly ridership was 22 percent higher last month than a year ago.

“They have crushed loads on their rail lines, already where people are standing, and there’s not enough seats,” said Rich Bickel, the director of the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission.

“At peak times some railcars are standing room only and commuter parking lots are nearly full. All Regional Rail lines are running near full capacity and the train station parking lots are at about 90 percent capacity or more,” SEPTA spokesperson Felipe Suarez said.

While SEPTA awaits new Silverliner V trains from Hyundai Rotem, which begin arriving in 2009, it had hoped to lease eight rail cars from New Jersey Transit, at an agreed-upon rate of US$10,000 per month. However, due to problems with insurance and liability indemnification, the deal fell through, according to Casey.

SEPTA has entered a new agreement to purchase the eight rail cars from NJ Transit. The transit authority will pay US$670,000 for the cars and assorted supplies plus one additional inoperative car which will be used for spare parts. The rail cars will be operated using a SEPTA provided locomotive as they are not self-propelled.

The cars are being disposed of by NJ Transit because it has switched from single-floor cars to double-decker cars.

SEPTA is expecting to raise US$3.1 million by selling rail that has been out of service since 1981 at auction.

Scuba Diving For All

The pleasures of scuba diving or snorkeling should not be limited to people who are physically fit. This experience should also be shared with those who have undergone great physical and emotional strain. A crippled child who is always confined to a wheelchair misses so much in life. Including them into the Bahamas scuba diving holiday will do wonders to their self esteem.

Families with physically challenged members joining them in their Bahamas scuba diving escapade are faced with several uncertainties. This dilemma has been resolved when all establishments including diving tour operators were mandated by law to make everything accessible to the handicapped.

Fortunately more and more diving outfits, not only the Bahamas scuba diving operators, are incorporating into their operations the specialized service for the physically disabled. They have designed, and installed ramps wide enough for wheelchairs. For underwater activities like diving or snorkeling, there is no need to handle paraplegics from the water and back to the deck. Specially designed manlifts do the job.

Freedom

Physical activities like snorkeling and scuba diving help the differently abled re-adjust and re-enter the mainstream, as well giving them the chance to enjoy a different but exhilarating experience. Parents need not worry about the possible dangers that may befall their child during their holiday in the Bahamas. Scuba diving experts trained as buddy divers take care of the novices during the diving or snorkeling.

The integration of scuba diving as a recreational as well as educational activity for the differently abled, is now gaining wide acceptance world-wide. World class diving facilities are incorporating activities and structures that would help the physically challenged. This development has added to the many services provided by scuba diving operators.

Getting to the boat from the dock is easy for all. A ramp is added enough to accommodate a wheelchair. To get into the water, a manlift will help the guest get into the water and back to the deck. Physical exertion to help children or adults will be minimized.

Health Benefits Plus

The expert diver, who serves as the buddy is trained to interact, and handle people with different needs. They have modified scuba diving courses for this specialization. Factors like inability to communicate, and buoyancy are considered in scuba diving for the physically challenged.

Scuba diving for your teenaged son has many benefits. Physical exertion on his part will improve his muscle tone, and strengthen his heart muscles as well. What counts most is the freedom he will enjoy underwater. He can take scuba diving lessons during your Bahamas scuba diving holiday. He can also be a certified diver if he has the determination as well as the inclination.

So bring along your son to his first Bahamas scuba diving holiday. It will be the most satisfying experience of his lifetime. This would be the best gift you can give him. Get him the right gear from wet suit, to life bottles. So pack your bags and jet to the Bahamas. Scuba diving, snorkeling, and windsurfing await you all.

Baby attacked by dog in New York

Saturday, January 5, 2008

An eight-month old boy, Andrew, was attacked and killed by a Doberman pinscher in Brooklyn, New York. The dog was a three-year old named Mackabee, who is also neutered.

The grandmother was babysitting the boy. While she was in the kitchen she heard the boy scream and ran next door to a neighbor for help. The neighbor took the dog off the boy, rescued him and brought him to his house to try and perform CPR on the boy, while he called 911 for help.

Police said the baby’s head was in bad shape and the dog broke the boy’s skull. Andrew was sent to Kings County Medical.

The doctors tried to save his life by working on him for nearly an hour, but the boy died at 3:06 pm local time. The parents of the child were not home at the time of the incident. The dog was shot with a tranquilizer and was sent to a care center. The city Department of Health is investigating. The dog may have to be put down because of the incident.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control, the Doberman Pinscher is not frequently involved in fatal attacks on humans in comparison to several other dog breeds such as German Shepherd Dogs, Rottweilers and others.

Medical Marijuana Program Of California

California has always been an active state when it came to Medical Marijuana California or any other drug related study and action. This is why California is considered as one of the best states in United States in terms of drug management. To deal with cases related to marijuana, Medical Marijuana California program was established a few years ago in California.MMP or the Medical Marijuana Program was launched specifically so that the state California can manage the addicted people in a better way. They decided that they should create an identification card for medical marijuana. They decided to call this card MMIC or medical marijuana identification card. The cards used to help in updating the database so that the law agencies along with the normal public can easily identify people who are medical marijuana California certified. The verification website is still available and people in California still use the site for many reasons. How can you apply for a medical marijuana California card? This is tricky because the MMIC will always identify the person who has this card as someone who is authorized to take a certain percentage of marijuana. As you can understand, it has a lot to do with law enforcement agencies and that is why the authority is very careful before they allow someone the precious card of access. How do you know that whether you are qualified enough to apply for MMIC? Well, there are a few fixed terms that you need to fulfill so that you come into consideration. The first law is that you will need to have the consent of an authorized doctor when it comes to marijuana. A government doctor will have to authorize that you need marijuana as a medicine in California. This is the first step of getting the card. After you receive the authorization from doctor, now it is time to prove your identity. Simply use your California state card or the motor vehicle license for this purpose. You can use any valid ID card that you have to prove that you are the same person who applied to the doctor for the card. The third step is proving the resident address. It can be done in a simple way with either one of your utility bill or with the passport that you have.Apply with these documents and if everything goes alright, you will be given the MMIC card.

A woman with a blood alcohol reading of 0.14 has been arrested and charged after crashing into a police car in Kings Cross, a suburb of Eastern Sydney early this morning.

Police officials claim the 27 year old woman was driving a Volkswagen the wrong way down a one way street when she collided with a police car parked outside Kings Cross Police Station. Following the collision, the woman drove off. Police later found the woman’s car in a nearby alleyway where she and a male were standing.

Both the woman and her companion were taken to Kings Cross Police Station where they were questioned about the incident. While at the station, police conducted a breath test on the woman, which returned a reading of 0.14 – almost 3 times the blood alcohol limit of 0.05 in New South Wales. Further investigation revealed that the woman did not hold a driver’s licence.

The woman was charged with mid-range PCA (driving under the influence of alcohol), driving whilst unlicensed and failing to give particulars after an accident.

The woman was not injured in the accident and the police car suffered only minor damage.
